Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuges is about ninety miles south of Albuquerque, New Mexico and covers more then 57,000 acres. Bosque del Apache, which means woods of the Apache, was established in 1939 to provide winter home for more than 50,000 snow geese, 50,000 ducks, 14,000 sandhill cranes and other birds.
