Samburu and Buffalo Springs National Reserve are located about 220 miles north of Nairobi. These two reserves are about 40,800 acres, and lie on the banks of the Ewaso Ngiro ("brown water") river. A variety of animals can be found on the reserves, such as: buffalos, waterbucks, impalas, elephants , grevy's zebras, oryxs, reticulated giraffes, lions, leopards, cheetahs and various types of birds.
