The Masai Mara National Reserve is located at the Tanzania border. The Game Reserve was established in 1961 on about 720 square miles of land. A variety of animals can be found on the reserve, such as: buffalos, waterbucks, impalas, topis, elephants , oryxs, giraffes, lions, leopards, cheetahs, spotted hyaenas, black-backed jackals and about 450 recorded various types of birds.
